CLIVE Studio Production Partner Certification

Green Screen Studio Submission Instructions

CLIVE Video Green ScreenAs part of the CLIVE Video Project expansion we are now certifying green screen studios and Directors across Australia and New Zealand.

Certification allows Production Partners to use any of our certified studios around the country (see Bronze Level on Rate Card).

In order to schedule your clients, we need to first certify you. This involves processing two "screen test" demo videos of 30 seconds in length to confirm that we are on the same page technically speaking. One half body and one full body video.

Here are the five steps to creating a successful CLIVE video.

  1. The subject must be standing in front of a key-able screen, at least 2-3 metres from camera, reading a speech from the tele-prompter. Make sure there are no noticeable eye movements from reading the promoter. The prompter should be as close to the lens as possible, above, below or directly in front of camera. Have your talent read a proper script up to 27 seconds in length. For a 30 sec clip, allow enough time for fades in and out. Avoid heavy striped clothing and key sensitive colours.
  2. Ensure the area from the knees to the floor is correctly lit to eliminate shadows. Also consider back-light separation, as the final video may appear over different coloured backgrounds once going to web. Correctly expose subject, with no harsh shadows. Try using soft lights.
  3. Produce an ECHO FREE audio track. Some studios use a hidden wireless lapel mic to achieve the echo free result. The CLIVE Studio uses an over head boom mic to eliminate potential rustling of clothes. Your choice, though a crystal clean audio track with a minimum -20db signal is required. Also be care full of foot movement over lapping dialogue.
  4. Create a Self-Contained Final Cut Pro Quicktime file, either HDV1080i/p or HDV720p with a 2 sec pre and post roll on the clip. If you are using any other HD camera (instead of an HDV camera) please adjust your export settings accordingly. As a reference, the file size for a 30 second clip should be around 90MB. Don't worry about cropping or chroma keying anything out, that's what we do.
  5. Send the demo videos using our yousendit.com drop box. Copy and paste this link, http://dropbox.yousendit.com/RidgeFilms928641 into your browser and make sure that there are no spaces in the link. Send us a confirmation email to chris@clivevideo.com as you upload the file.

The information provided gives specific instructions for creating CLIVE Videos. We reserve the right to suspend any videos that do not meet CLIVE Video requirements. Once certified, this standard will need to be held and maintained for every video sent to us.

After all this, you're on you way to being certified. Here is the link to our green screen instructional video:
